The Hadley Family Story
Hadley Fruit Orchards was founded by Paul and Peggy Hadley in 1931 in Banning, California. Their neighbors were the Morongo Band of Mission Indians. According to members of the Morongo tribe, Paul Hadley often provided tribal members with fruit and dates, fostering a rapport with Hadley Fruit Orchards that remains to this day.

A & W Restaurant

One hot day in June of 1919 in Lodi, California an entrepreneur named Roy Allen mixed up a batch of creamy root beer and sold the first frosty mug of this delightful beverage for one nickel. Now, more than seventy years later, A&W Root Beer is the world's number one selling root beer and is still mixed fresh daily and sold at hundreds of A&W restaurants.

Morongo's A&W is one of the top-performing A&W in the country.

Ruby's Diner

Ruby's Diner was born in 1980. Doug Cavanaugh had just returned to Southern California. One evening he was brainstorming about business opportunities with his father, and remembered that he had seen a dilapidated building on the end of Balboa Pier while jogging along the beach. "Although the building is in pretty bad shape now, its architecture really lends itself well to that of a 1940's diner. I wonder if I could get the place from the city and turn it into a diner that would bring back the fun and nostalgia of that era?" he said. With his father's encouragement, Cavanaugh started to make the restaurant a reality.
