Perform a variety of entry-level maintenance and repair work on Tribal buildings, sites, and equipment.  Weed abatement, clean and maintain roads, sewers, firebreaks, culverts and drainage lines.  Also, perform simple preventive maintenance and other tasks as assigned.

Under the direction of the Fire Captain, responsible for performing a variety of fire fighting, emergency medical service (EMS), fire prevention, hazardous materials and rescue work associated with structures, wildland areas, automobiles, and other identified tribal holdings and concerns.  The Fire Engineer serves as a member of the fire fighting team, performing duties related to the protection of life, the environment and property. The Fire Engineer drives and operates fire apparatus and equipment and may direct the actions of his/her assigned team during emergency situations.  








  • Must have: EMT-1A and Firefighter I certification, plus a valid California Commercial Class B Driver’s License with good driving record.

Incumbent is responsible for implementing and coordinating the Morongo Reading program. Responsible for the literacy performance of the students in general and of struggling readers in particular (i.e., providing instruction and serving as a resource to tutors). The position requires working collaboratively to implement a quality reading program that is research-based and meets the needs of the Morongo students.

Morongo Associate Judges shall be responsible for managing and hearing cases brought in the Morongo Tribal Court and other Court administrative duties. Additional responsibilities may include collaborating as needed with Tribal personnel in expanding Court infrastructure and areas of jurisdiction, assisting in developing practices and protocols with a cultural approach consistent with tribal values, assisting in revision of Rules of Court, proposed Tribal Ordinances and procedural standards, supervising calendaring, training and supervising tribal court staff, maintaining a court record system, and assisting in the maintenance of the Tribal Court library.




  • A bachelor’s degree in relevant field and equivalent of one (1) year of Tribal Court training, plus a minimum of two (2) years practicing in Tribal Court or extensive knowledge of Indian law, Federal law, and California law required.
  • A law degree and at least five (5) years of practice may be considered the equivalent of Tribal Court training and Tribal Court practice.

Responsible for preparing detailed budgets on proposed Tribal projects (this includes all on and off-site work, design, engineering, construction, material costs, and any other pertinent details related to a particular project).  Evaluate supplier and contractor invoices for work completion and prepare for payment. Organize and archive plans in Plan Room. Act as point of contact and communicate project status adequately to all participants. Keep up-to-date records of all ongoing projects; Plans, Submittals, Change Orders, Budget Spreadsheet, Spec’s, RFI’s, Payment Applications. Monitor and enable flow of info to and from contractors. Operate computer-aided design (CAD) drafting system. Administrative responsibilities, including but not limited to office management duties, in addition to project support.
