Location Construction Services Department
Description

Preparation of site, floor, and elevation plans and construction documents for a variety of Tribal Governmental and Enterprise applications.  Assist with developing, analyzing plans and specifications from Architects and Engineers; and offering input on plans from numerous levels (layout, structural, mechanical, electric, etc.). Operate computer-aided design (CAD) drafting system for preparation of both conceptual and construction documents for Tribal projects.  Responsible for preparing detailed budgets on proposed Tribal projects (this includes all on and off-site work, design, engineering, construction, material costs and any other pertinent details related to a particular project). Purchase high volume items and materials that cover extended contract periods.Evaluate supplier and contractor invoices for work completion and prepare for payment.  Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

  • A minimum of five years of professional experience related to construction, including experience in drafting, cost estimating, scheduling, project mgmt., and engineering elevations. 
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office are required.
  • Good written and communication skills and must possession of a valid CA Driver License with good driving record and insurable on Company policy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related studies preferred.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalence.
  • Knowledgeable of and educated in Computer Aided Drafting and design specific in AutoCAD.

Location Morongo Fire Department
Description

Organize response to fire alarms, medical calls and other emergency situations; take command of scene as appropriate; determine proper tactics for fire suppression assuring safety of fire personnel and civilians. Train and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; interview and select employees and recommend transfers, reassignment, termination and disciplinary actions. Organize and conduct training and continuing education in fire suppression, emergency medical aid, hazardous materials, and use of equipment, special assignments and other matters; develop lesson plans; assure physical readiness to participate in emergency operations. Participate in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures; conduct pre-incident surveys and prepare emergency response plans for various occupancies; coordinate pre-fire planning activities including scheduling and assignment of activities.

SELECTION PROCESS:

Those deemed eligible to move forward will be notified to begin the initial interview with Human Resources. Candidates who meet the above criteria will be invited to participate in a three step testing process consisting of a  multiple choice written exam derived from IFSTA company officer fourth edition, assessment center, and oral interview. Candidates must achieve passing score to advance to the next step in the testing process.

Description

Under the direction of Tribal Council and Morongo Executive Staff, perform responsible secretarial duties in support of Tribal Council, predominately recording and transcribing minutes, notices, reports and agendas for all Council meetings, conferences, and special events.  Also, prepare motions and follow-up documents. Maintain accurate records of Tribal Council meetings; act as the official keeper of Tribal government records; provide transparent and accurate information and access to tribal records; and other duties as assigned.

  • Candidate is required to have a minimum of five (5) years experience in a legal office, city or county clerk’s office, or a corporate/executive business setting.

Description

Under general supervision, overhauls, repairs and maintains different types of gasoline and diesel powered equipment, ranging from weed eaters to heavy equipment and reel type mowers. Perform a variety of skilled duties involved in the mechanical maintenance and overhauling of grounds equipment and small gasoline and electric powered equipment; maintain inventory of grounds and operations equipment.

  • Valid California Class driver’s license and must be insurable.
  • Certified mechanic with Toro, John Deere and/or Jacobson required.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), plus one year certificate from college or technical school and over five years of satisfactory, full time paid employment as maintenance mechanic, including small engine and hydraulic systems; plus reel mower service and repair work or equivalent combination of experience in lieu of education with a maximum substitution of one year.

Description

Incumbent is responsible for cashiering which includes: receiving cash payments, processing credit or debit card transactions and providing receipts to customers. Additional duties include, but are not limited to, stocking cold boxes, shelves and stand ups; helping with inventory; assisting customers; and maintaining a clean work area.

Description

Under the direction of the Public Works Director, organize and direct the maintenance and repair of Morongo vehicles and equipment. Evaluate and coordinate repairs and servicing needs assuring compliance with OSHA safety regulations. Prepare and maintain a variety of narrative and statistical reports, records and files related to vehicle inspections, repairs, and financial activity. Train and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Must have minimum 7 years working on heavy equipment (school and shuttle buses, fire engines, and automobiles) and 2 years supervisory experience; gasoline and diesel engines knowledge required.
  • Prior CNG and A/C knowledge is preferred.

Description

Manage, report, and implement assigned activities of the TANF program to the TANF Director. Primary responsibilities include planning, organizing and managing programmatic, administrative and operational activities. Additional duties include, but are not limited to, the following: supervision of assigned personnel; oversee the coordination of all activities and work closely with all TANF staff; ensure all program activities are in accordance with TANF regulations, policies and procedures, including approval of TANF eligibility and services; and recommend options and strategies to the Director.

Description

Description

Incumbent is responsible for implementing and coordinating the Morongo Reading program. Responsible for the literacy performance of the students in general and of struggling readers in particular (i.e., providing instruction and serving as a resource to tutors). Must be able to teach reading to all grade levels. The position requires working collaboratively to implement a quality reading program that is research-based and meets the needs of the Morongo students.

Qualifications

 

  • Must possess good communication and interpersonal skills, work cooperatively with staff to diagnose and provide solid reading instruction, and collaborate with colleagues in meeting student needs.
  • Ability to recognize best practices in reading instruction, reading strategies, and student learning.
  • This teacher must have team working skills and be able to fill a variety of roles within the learning center to benefit the Morongo students.
  • California teaching credential; Specialist Credential in Reading and Language Arts preferred.

Description

The Catering Sales Manager will contribute to generating new sales and catering business leads and servicing existing contracts. Primary responsibility is to generate revenue for Morongo Golf Club by generating leads and converting them to sales with a heavy concentration in event planning in corporate, local and social markets. This position will be responsible for contracting and closing weddings, birthday celebrations, banquets and other social or business functions; supplying food and other services as agreed by the parties and verify all staff are carrying out the event smoothly; provide five star customer service; and other duties as needed.

  • Minimum four years catering sales experience is required preferably in the country club/resort/wedding market.
  • The ideal candidate will possess extraordinary networking and client relation skills and good knowledge of the local catering market, including the wedding market, corporate, and social market.
