Morongo Tribe Adds Critical Tool Towards Public Safety & Disaster Response

The Morongo Tribe has added a critical tool to its continued efforts to provide public safety and disaster response. The Tribe took delivery of a mobile command and communications vehicle that now allows the Emergency Management Department to communicate with its response partners in the county and region. The vehicle is part of a larger command post system that allows for disaster response operations and management of preplanned and special events.

The Tribe staffs a Fire Department that has at-least seven personnel on at all times and has an Emergency Management Department of two. The permanent Emergency Operations Center is located on the Reservation adjacent to the Fire Department.

The Tribe works closely with other tribes in the region and its neighbors in preparedness and response efforts to keep all Californians safe.
